PAK Time is my new acronym that stands for "Parent and Kid" Time. I have wanted to write more on the importance of the family unit and to encourage my heart as well as yours to begin today to foster the relationships inside the family. Last year we decided to do something different on Valentine's Day and take the kids out on "dates". They loved it and I can't wait to do it again tonight!
We took our date night over the weekend, so tonight, Robbie will get to take the girls out for a special Valentine date and tomorrow the boys get to take me out! It was funny to do this last year and see where everyone wanted to go and how the boys, especially CR, played the gentleman so well! For us, we want our kids to feel so loved inside this family that they don't go seeking love from the opposite sex until it is time. So many kids, girls especially, get caught up in the worldly ideas of this holiday. They start to feel ashamed if they don't have a boyfriend or if they don't get a "valentine" from a special someone. I think parents can greatly allieviate the desires our children, especially girls, have for love. We can love them and "date" them all year long for starters. But this day, especially, they should feel loved and pursued by us, just as our Heavenly Father pursues his children!

This is such a great idea! We will be adopting the idea. We decided on Ava's 3rd bday we would start some date nights with Chip:) This just reinforces the importance to me. PS we are starting a chore chart at the house. I AM SO EXCITED!!!
