Deer hunting

CR spent a couple of nights in Jackson with my Dad for the first time this week! He had a blast doing all sorts of boy things. First on the list was going deer hunting. CR has wanted to do this for a long time and LOVED it! And to make it more exciting for his first hunt, Dad shot an 8 point! If shooting a deer wasn't fun enough, then tracking him down was! I've never been deer hunting, but apparently you give the deer about 30 minutes before you track him down. By this time it was getting dark, so CR had his own flashlight to go on a "deer hunt" in the woods looking for the unfortunate buck. What a fun memory for my little hunter! They also went to the farm to check out the new "duck pit" for duck hunting. He had fun getting inside it and watching for birds from underground and climbing on the outside of it!

Another big highlight of the trip was taking the deer to Yoder's to get processed. He got to watch them cut the antlers off with a saw and take the rack back home as a trophy!!

Of course they went to the Donut Shop as well and got all sugared up on donuts. Quite obviously, he had a blast and now has a very fond memory of his first sleepover with Pop!
