The girls have participated in a Run Club at school this year and just had their last run to mark the completion of a full marathon during the school year! Both girls have wanted to run in races with me, but were never able to run a full mile without stopping. So, I had given up on them running and have always made them ride their bikes when they go with me. Well, now I think they are finally ready!! CH has run 3 miles without stopping at her most and MV's most is 2 miles!
Friday was the final day for Run Club and each runner got to wear a race number and run through tape at the finish line! They received a certificate stating how many miles they had run this year and enjoyed popsicles, hugs and pictures as they finished their "race". Thanks Ms. Sara for for organizing this for the kids! My girls loved it!
That's a great idea! Kenzie rides her bike when I go running and she needs/wants to come along. It would be fun to have her as a running buddy one day!
