Good news for today is that CR is learning to ride his bike without training wheels!! I was working with him for awhile, but can no longer run beside him as he takes off super fast when he gets going. So, we now have to wait until Robbie gets home to practice. Now he is getting in the good workouts as he runs along beside CR! I am also loving this age (CR is 4) because CR is wanting to be more like his daddy! He wants to dress like him and is getting in the habit of holding doors and letting ladies go first just like daddy! I read a good blog the other day entitled
Playtheman (thanks for the lead, Lori!!) based off the passage from II Samuel 10:12 which reads, "Be of good courage, and let us play the man for our people, and for the cities of our God." (
ASV) What a good verse to leave with our boys as daddy is away at work!!
So, for the bad news . . . we had to take another child to the DR today for stitches. This time it was MV - she ended up on the wrong end of a plastic shovel and her upper lip was split requiring 9 stitches!! She was scared at first to get stitches, but did a super job getting shots in her lip and getting sewn together with needle! She is in a little more pain now that the meds are wearing off, but we are thankful that she is not hurt worse!
MV before stitches

MV after stitches

Ouch that looks so painful. What a trooper! I can't believe my boys have never needed stitches....yet.
ReplyDeleteoh Mattie Van! You are so brave. :) Hope your lip feels better soon!
ReplyDeleteAnd CR! Way to go with your bike! HG is wanting to be like you and start riding her bike with no training wheels! Good Job!
Hey thanks for the link. May God bless the arrival of your 5th baby.
ReplyDeletePoor Mattie Van! I am so sorry that happened!
ReplyDeleteWe just heard a trick the other day about being able to ride without training wheels. The Dad said he was able to teach his newly turned 3 year old son how to ride in 1 day. All he did was take off the training wheels and the pedals to the bike. He then let his son ride around pushing the bike with his feet on the ground. Within a day he was able to put the pedals back on and the little boy could ride without training wheels! We are going to give it a try tomorrow! We will see:)
Let me know how it turns works!!
