Baby Chicks are Here!

Today we picked up our order for 20 baby chicks. We have really debated over whether or not we wanted to raise week old chicks or just buy the pullets at 3-4 months after someone else has done all the hard leg work! They are so much cheaper to buy young, that we decided to give it a shot. So here we go! These chicks are all females and are supposed to be hard core egg layers, but won't start laying until mid summer. It was a hard decision to put off the gratification of having eggs NOW, but I think we will be glad we in the long run!
