Like Dandelion Dust!!

Finally!! It's coming to theaters starting this weekend!

Two and a half years ago, my sister and I drove four of our kids 15 hours to Jacksonville, FL to be attempt to be extras in this movie. It was a crazy idea, but what a fun trip to take in the middle of the winter! We arrived in town, only to be told that our scene had to be put off a day, and then another day. We finally got the call that we would be shooting a scene as neighbors witnessing the arrest of Rip Porter and were told to wear solid but dull colored clothing. We were so excited to be on the set, but eventually were told that our scene was being rescheduled again. We decided that it was time to give up on our short lived dream of being movie stars and head back home immediately! We left the set sometime after lunch and drove all night to make it back home! We did get a chance to meet Karen Kingsbury, the author, who was amazing! She was so real and down to earth and even watched all of our kids for us so that we could go and watch on the TV set what was being filmed inside the house. Here are a few of the pictures from our trip.

Since we had a few extra "play days" we took advantage of the local beach and also drove to Amelia Island to play in the water! BTW: MV stayed back with the grands and didn't make the trip :(

This is CR!

And Little E!! He was really LITTLE here!

CH has always loved the beach - just like her Mama!!

We finally made it to the set in downtown Jacksonville. There were cop cars everywhere waiting to shoot the scene were Rip gets arrested.

On the set with KK and her son and daughter

Waiting & waiting! Did we look the part for a poor family living in the projects with the Porters?!

This the house where the Porters "lived"
